Artificial intelligence (A.I.) in general, and deep learning specifically, have many potential applications in the medical and surgical care of glaucoma. Our lab has pioneered a smartphone-based application that classifies medication eye drop bottles as well as a convolutional neural network that identifies and marks the trabecular meshwork under gonioscopic view.
