The overarching theme of our lab is applying emerging quantitative techniques to solve clinical challenges in glaucoma and cataract.

Specifically, we aim to apply microfluidic-derived monodisperse, dual-layered, scalable microbubbles for imaging and drug delivery.

A separate arm of our lab focuses on applying deep and machine learning algorithms to improve outcomes in various diagnostic and surgical settings. Specifically, we recently published an iPhone-based application that helps patients identify glaucoma eyedrop medications, as well as a real-time capable algorithm that automatically segments and denotes the trabecular meshwork.
